Rippling right along

Ok, here is the picture of my new start.

This is going to be a baby blanket for someone that my hubby works with.

I also bought the Fishermen's Wool for my sister's boyfriend's scarf.  Love the color.  You can see it here:  http://www.lionbrand.com/yarns/fisher.htm

I got Maple Tweed and the picture doesn't do it justice.  It is a heather chocolate with a oatmeal thru it.  Love the color.  I bought three skeins.  I hope that it is enough.

Still deciding on the pattern.

Have a wonderful day.

Granny squares to use up yarn

I am using up odds and ends making a new granny square blanket.  It will be all Caron Simply Soft.

I got the idea here:  http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/2012/09/granny-patchwork-blanket-.html

I really love Attic 24 blog.  There is also a group on Ravelry.  I am going to be doing a ripple that is posted there too.

If you don't go to Ravelry, you really should.  Great patterns, chat, and groups.  http://www.Ravelry.com

Here is the first block:

Over the Hump Day!!

It's Hump Day.  I hope that your day is filled with lovely crafts.

Here is an update on the blue and white baby blanket:

Almost there.  I hope to get it to her this weekend.  She will be very shocked that I got it done so fast.

Here is some new yarn that I bought for Christmas.  I haven't picked the pattern yet.

This is Lion Brand Yarn.  It is Wool-Ease Worsted Weight.  80% acrylic, 20% wool.  I like the color.  It is called Autumn.  I also like the machine wash and dry of this yarn.  I bought five or six skeins.  Just in case.  LOL

What is on your hook or needles today?

I am making this baby blanket for a lady that works at the bank that I go to.  She is expecting a son in Dec.  I really love these colors together.

I am using Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn.  You can find the free pattern here: http://staceydaze.blogspot.com/2011/11/my-ripple-pattern.html

This pattern is easy and quick.

I am using a J hook.

Have a wonderful day.

A finish and a start

Ok, here is the finish first.  This pattern was made for my nephew's first child that will be born in Nov.

Here is a link to the pattern.  Love it.  Very easy and fun.  http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/tiramisu-baby-blanket

Now for the start.  I have decided to make scarves for Christmas.  Most of you know that I send most gifts north to Ohio.  Here is the one I am making for my Mom.

You can find this free pattern here:  http://littlemissocean.blogspot.com/2011/12/bobble-hat-and-scarf.html

I am enjoying this pattern also.

I hope this helps you find some fun new patterns.

God Bless and have a wonderful day.

1 Ripple is done!!!

My first Ripple is done.  Here is the little girl who loved it so much that she asked me for it.  LOL

She was very happy with it.  Isn't she a sweetie???

I am using the burgandy and the pink that is left to make a doll sized one for my daughter's American Girl doll, Molly.

Have a great day!

Ripples, Ripples everywhere!

Ok, here is an update on the Easy Ripple:

It is about 50% done.  I am very happy with it.  I wasn't sure about the color choice at first.  I have had so many people tell me they love it or it made them hungry for Neopolitan Ice Cream.  LOL

Here is a picture of my new project called Wriggy Ripples:

This is for Bri's doll.  She will be picking colors for one for her bed.  You can find it here:  http://alottastitches.wordpress.com/2012/05/22/the-wriggly-ripple-pattern/

Her's is much neater than mine.  I think I am going to go down one hook size on the bed one.

What are you working on today?

Fourth color and colors picked for second project

I am very happy with it.

Now my daughter is wanting one.  So she picked these colors:

I will have to play with them a bit to see how I like them.  LOL

Have a wonderful day!

Moving right along!

Here are some updated pictures from my in progress ripple:

The pink is going to be the next color.  I am doing three rows of a color.  I am going to be going to Hobby Lobby today to pick up a few more colors.

I am so happy with this pattern.  Very easy to do.  I sat outside and worked on this blanket for a while last evening.

My neighbor's daughter came over and asked me what I was doing.  She is almost five.  I told her that I was making a blanket.  She said you are?  I said yes.  She asked me if she could have it.  So I told her that she could.  She is really excited about it.  LOL

Have a great day!

My first Ripple

Ok, I am going for it and doing my first ripple.  I found the greatest pattern.  It is well written and explains well.  Decreases are also written out.  I will post a picture when it looks like something.  LOL

http://www.handcraftingwithlove.net/yarn/pat-ripple.html

I am using I Love This Yarn from Hobby Lobby.  I started with some bright yellow I had left from a shawl.

Still working on my baby blanket.  I love that pattern too as it is easy.  I have one in white/multi tweed and one in soft pink.  So I have a project in every room and in the car now.  LOL

Long time, no post!!!

Hey Ya'll!!

Things have been crazy here.  But here are some photos of some projects.

Both projects are made with I Love This Yarn from Hobby Lobby.

Here is the start of a baby blanket for my nephew and his girlfriend who are expecting in Nov.  I am going to be a Great Aunt again!!!

Since I don't know what the baby will be, I chose this white with multi-colored specks.  Love it.  I will run a ribbon around the border when it is done and I find out what they are having.

My Mother's birthday was in April and I made her a shawl.  I also used I Love This Yarn.  Mom was 79 this year.  She would kill me if she found out that I told her age.  LOL

Gave away a shawl that was sunshine yellow in the same pattern.  I wish I would have got a picture of it.  Very cheery!!

Have a great day!

Here is a new project that is calling my name!!

http://www.wasatchneedlecraft.com/SANQ-Spring-2012_p_4283.html

SANQ is a huge inspiration to me.  I almost always love something in this magazine.

I will be getting my supplies when my tax return comes.

A new update

I haven't been posting because I have been stitching.  I finished a exchange project (I don't want to put up a picture of it here until after the exchange), I made my first Granny Square baby blanket, and started a second Granny Square baby Blanket.  Phew!!

Here is the completed Granny Square baby blanket.

This is the Red Heart yarn.  It was so pretty, but I really like Caron much better.  So I am using Caron Simply Soft in Country Peach and Off White for the next blanket.  I have about half of the squares done.

I am thinking about making some crafts and getting a table at a craft show in the Fall.  I could use some extra money for my homeschool.  I figured a couple baby blankets, and lots of small things like ornaments, coasters, and the like.  What do you suggest??

Finally!!! An Update

Ok.  I know that I am behind.  But here goes:

This is the Granny Squares for a baby blanket.  It is Red Heart White and Calliope.  Love this color!!  Just happened to see it at JoAnn's and got the last skeins.

Current cross stitch project.  Using Ivory Aida and DMC 498.  I like a darker red.  This pops on Ivory.

This is Granny A Day.  I know, there is only seven.  But I was busy over the weekend.  I think the baby Grannies count too.  LOL

My Margaret Jane sampler.  Not much of a start, but it is a start.

Have a wonderful day.

Gathering my supplies

I am getting ready to start working on Granny Squares for the Square a day.  I doubt I will get a square a day done, but I think it will be a great way to keep busy.  I plan to leave a hook and some yarn in the truck so I can do this while waiting for Rooster to get off work.

Here is a link to a great free pattern:  http://www.jpfun.com/patterns/free/granny_squares/f101005juliesgranny.shtml

Julie has tons of free patterns plus ways to earn points for more.  Hit her link on my sidebar with the cat.  You will love it.
